This free training will equip registered and licensed plumbers and fourth-year plumbing apprentices in Victoria to understand energy efficiency requirements, and design and install energy efficient hot water system heat pumps.
It supports the Victorian Government’s climate action ambitions. These include reducing carbon emissions, phasing out natural gas connections, and transitioning to home electrification. This training also supports industry to meet new 7 star energy efficiency building standards.
With this training, licensed and registered plumbers and fourth-year plumbing apprentices can help Victorians electrify their home, save on energy bills and tackle climate change by upgrading to a hot water system that uses less energy.
Water heating is a major source of household energy use in Australia, after heating and cooling and appliances (see Your Home).
This training is funded by Solar Victoria and delivered by the Plumbing Industry Climate Action Centre (PICAC) online and across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria in a variety of formats.
